Totally kidding, but I had to act like Nicholas Sparks for a moment to make for a memorable introduction! While I might not be a romance novelist, I am a mom to two sweet little dino-monsters, and a lover of love. I absolutely love Grey's Anatomy way more than I'll ever admit, and think a venti iced white chocolate mocha from Starbucks can just about fix anything.
Yes, I'm a "Mom-tographer". And?
Some refer to photographers like myself as a "mom-tographer" with this vibe as if that's a bad thing. The way I see it though, it's actually a huge advantage. When I'm behind my camera, I look for real life moments. Not the posed, "smile for the camera," with the fakest smile possible, kind of moments.
I think of my boys, and all the moments I try to capture of them. The memories that I'm going to want to have when they're off, living their own lives, and pictures are all I have left.
I long to capture laughs, giggles, passion, love, raw emotion, and so much more. I'm the photographer that legitimately wants to take pictures of a child and their favorite teddy bear holding its paw or hugging it, because it protects them from nightmares at night. Those are moments you'll want forever.
